Here with a loaf of bread beneath the bough,
A flask of wine, a book of verse, and thou
Beside me singing in the wilderness,
And wilderness is paradise enow.

And as the cock crew, those who stood before

The Tavern shouted, "Open then the door!

"You know how little time we have to stay,

"And once departed may return no more."
